“Product managers and customers are now Product Owners.” — Ken Schwaber, “The Enterprise and Scrum”

The Agile Product Management Webinar Series: Overview (Part 1 of 4) focused on the essence of Agility and Scrum and also focused on debunking some myths around unhealthy adaptations of Agility and Scrum concerning the Product Manager and Product Owner.

Slide 16 describes the Myth of the Product Owner and Product Manager (that caters to dysfunctions), which concerns the Role, Organization, and Focus. This myth has fostered quite a wedge between Business (Product Management) and Technology (Product Development or Engineering) with far reaching prevalent thinking, and now is the time to recognize the myth and confront this prevalent thinking!

Slide 17 presented some prevalent thinking (which is based on the Myth) that was confronted and deconstructed during the webinar. (Source of the prevalent thinking: Dean Leffingwell’s Scaling Software Agility, http://scalingsoftwareagility.wordpress.com)

Slides 18 & 19 presented some prevalent thinking (which is based on the Myth) that was confronted and deconstructed during the webinar. (Source of the prevalent thinking: Jennifer Fawcett’s Agile Product Owner, http://agileproductowner.com)
